Care for Vulnerable Mothers
Empowering Mothers. Strengthening Families.
Across Haiti, many mothers face overwhelming challenges. Poverty, insecurity, gender-based violence, and limited access to healthcare make it difficult to provide for themselves and their children. Too often, these barriers leave women without the resources or opportunities they need to build stable, healthy lives.
The Missionaries of Mary, Queen of the Apostles believe that when mothers are supported, families and communities become stronger. Through SAPAMIE’s Care for Vulnerable Mothers Program, women receive compassionate care, practical assistance, and opportunities to build greater independence and hope for the future.
Helping Women Thrive
The program provides comprehensive support designed to meet both immediate needs and long-term goals, including:
- Psychosocial support
- Referrals to health and social services
- Maternal health support
- Vocational and entrepreneurial training
- Assistance with income-generating activities
- Awareness and education on women’s rights
- Leadership development opportunities
By addressing the many challenges women face, the program helps mothers gain greater confidence, improve their well-being, and create more stable futures for themselves and their children.
Building Stronger Communities
The Care for Vulnerable Mothers Program seeks to reach hundreds of women through maternal health services, psychosocial support, food and hygiene assistance, and programs that promote economic independence.
The goal is not simply to meet immediate needs, but to help women develop the knowledge, skills, and resources that enable them to care for their families with greater confidence and security.
